Alley

At the dead end of this alley stood a weathered sign, barricading the path to a desolate hillside. A lone streetlight cast its amber glow across both walls which emphasizes the geometric grafittis in hypnotic neon hues.
It happened on the day when dusk turned the alley into a liquid dream. The red door stood slightly ajar, emitting a scented warmth. As I reached to knock, the bicycle's bell chimed on its own, a crystalline note shimmering in the air. Suddenly the graffiti patterns began swirling like living constellations, their turquoise and gold lines reforming into glowing runes.
The door swung wide...That's when I realized - the real magic wasn't the portal, but how ordinary things had been whispering secrets to me all along.
